I am classified as a sophomore at the University of Arkansas Little Rock. I am majoring in Journalism and minoring in Marketing, and hoping to graduate a semester early, in December 2023. My dream job would be working for Arkansas Bride or another larger Arkansas magazine.
I chose UA Little Rock because I knew Little Rock would be able to offer me many unique opportunities to get involved in the community. I’m from Conway, where we have three colleges, but I knew I would thrive more in Little Rock with so many media companies housed out of the city. I’m so glad I chose this school because the professors in the School of Mass Communication are amazing and so helpful to students. The school really feels like a little family, and I admire how everyone works together and you are really able to get to know your peers through stimulating class discussions and projects.
On campus, I am an Orientation Leader for the Summer of 2020. This is interesting because now that orientations are online, we are being more creative in how to reach out to incoming students. I look forward to creating videos, hosting Instagram or Facebook lives, helping with virtual campus tours, and even hosting Instagram takeovers one day at a time. I’m learning a lot about campus and how to help others, and having fun simultaneously.
I have also contributed to the Forum and the LRAngle, which are student publications here on campus, which you can view under the Works page. I hope to have a lot more time next Fall to take photos and even write stories for these publications, because this past year has been so busy! I miss picking up my camera as much as I did in high school.
